The country is anxious for 8pm, to know what the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will say about the non-acceptance by the Prime Minister, António Costa, of the resignation presented by the Minister of Infrastructures, João Galamba. For some it was an affront to the PR (against his own wishes), by keeping Minister Galamba in office, for others it was nothing more than a normal act of governance. Personally I think it was a great move by the Prime Minister to take the decision of confrontation. Marcelo must now make three decisions: exonerate the government, inviting the prime minister to present a new government, dissolve the Assembly of the Republic, calling early elections, or stay in the same position. Marcelo doesn't like to lose, even if it's a "beanpole", so he won't want to lose in this dispute; I presume he will give some directives to AC and, from that moment on, he will start marking AC's government directly and, when the polls are favourable to the PSD (his party) he will dissolve the Parliament. If this does not happen, he will swallow a huge elephant!
